Hi Sandi :-) I've only recently started following your journey, and I want you to know that I empathize with your struggles to live the way you truly want to. It's great to see that you've made a determined fresh start - congratulations! You're doing so well, and I hope that the positive momentum you are building every day will carry you a long way.
From reading your blog, I understand that in the past you've had a pattern of starting strong and then flagging after a number of weeks. I wonder if it would be helpful to you to build up a strong support group of people you feel you have to be accountable to, to strengthen you if you find the same pattern recurring in the future. For example, if you had a personal trainer, a dietitian, and maybe a life coach or therapist, all of whom you have to report to every week, perhaps that would help give you the structure and discipline you need when it's hard to find those things within yourself. (I remember that when you had that bet with your coworkers, it helped push you into healthy behaviors when your motivation was flagging.) I know that this might be expensive, but perhaps it could be a worthwhile investment in your health and future.
Anyway, however you decide to move forward, please know that I'm cheering you on. You're already off to a great start, and I know you can do it! :-)
I started this blog 200 lbs overweight. I now have under 100 lbs left to lose. My goal was to save my life by losing weight and become the active, fun loving woman I was inside. I am most of those things now, but have a ways to go! Join me as I blog my way through this journey.
