I have walked twice this week. Not for long, 18 & 20 min. But both nights I ended up with leg cramps in my thighs. *sigh* Ok, so I don't want to abandon walking, I need to walk to improve my health, my stamina and help with my weight loss. But I also don't want to keep suffering from these cramps. So today I am going to find a very good stretching routine and do that before and after and see what that does.

I am also going to go back to water aerobics, but I can't do that until 8/9, so I need something in else. There is a cycling class at the YMCA. That's my goal, to be small and healthy enough to try the cycling class. I figure that will be my 100 lb lost reward! :)

Sandi, I am so glad you are back on "the path". I've missed reading your blog.
Love you lots!

Early on, I also got the worst thigh cramps when I walked. They were worse than the ones I get in my calves.

In addition to stretching, you may want to make sure you get enough Calcium and try to walk for shorter times more often on a gradual build-up. I know 18-20 minutes doesn't seem like long, but I started at less than 10 minutes per day (because of back pain).

Good luck!

Sandi, I'm so happy to see your blog back! It's very pretty as well.

Have you ever tried Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds? I like them because they're not too difficult for me; I'm not that physically fit.

Keep blogging so we can continue to encourage you on your journey!
