MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS!
Tonight we had my MIL and her husband over for dinner. Baked Ziti, fresh bread from the oven with butter and a salad. YUMO!! That's really what they all had. But I didn't even feel like figuring out the calories for this recipe. Even if I could have made it fit, I didn't think it would leave me satisfied. So I cooked a skinless chicken breast and had it over my salad. And it was just fine. For dessert we had ice cream. I weighed it and had some (low cal of course for me).
Tomorrow morning we are having my mother and brother over for brunch. Breakfast casserole, biscuits and gravy and fried potatoes. Once again, that's what they are having. I will have 2 eggs, 2 egg white with some ham and a healthy life English muffin with BUTTER! Yep, that's my mother's day splurge. 100 calories of butter that will get counted.
I chose to have everyone over my house so I could prepare my own food and be sure of what I was getting. I always thought when people said they ate different than those around me that I could never do that. But I am looking out for me and as long as other people get what they want, they simply don't care what I am doing. Our immediate family as a whole eats healthier, but I wouldn't consider making my extended family eat what I want. I do think next year I will try and make the things for them that are healthier. But being just 10 weeks into this, I just was worried about myself.
At Bunko last night, the girl is trying to watch so she made all low cal desserts. She had the calories and everything. It was nice to be able to actually have some dessert at Bunko!

Sandi, you are really inspiring me!! It is such a pleasure to come here and see that you are sticking with it and not only that but really getting what it is that works and doesn't work and the hardest bit of all, realizing that you don't have to eat what everyone else is eating, you won't feel deprived, it won't kill you and really no one will notice or if they do they know what you are going through and will be fully supportive. Good for you!!! This is really sticking with you this time Sandi, I can tell by your entries, you are making such leaps and strides, this is fantastic! Best wishes and keep up the great work!!
