Another good day. I really feel like I am getting the hang of this. I know I will make it through this month despite all the holidays!

Today I went shopping with my mom and we needed to grab a quick lunch before New Moon. Culvers was convenient, so that's where we went. I had already decided on a plain grilled chicken sandwich. But the melt looked divine on the way in and their cheese curds are awesome. But I got my chicken and it was good and I left satisfied. And really, isn't that all we are after any way. How can you feel deprived when you are full and satisfied?

Maggie - I am a HUGE fan of fitday.com. First, it's free and it doesn't get better than that and second it's online, so no matter where you are at, you can get to it. I like it because it lets you create custom foods, so after a while all your typical foods are already there. Then when something else comes up, you just enter it in and it's there for next time. It also charts you fat, carbs and protein %, so that makes it easier to stay under 30 % fat. Here is what my day looked like today and what the custom food list looks like.

The thing I don't like is that when you make a meal that includes a bunch of ingredients, you can't figure it out with fitday. For that I use sparkpeople's recipe calculator. You have to be a member to use it, but it' perfect for figuring out things like casseroles, homemade pizza and stuff.

I live on fitday.com
It takes a little while to put your custom foods in.. but I find that I eat alot of the same foods.

I try not to pay too close attn to the daily pie chart.. ie. today I ate almonds so it appears that I had a really high fat day.. but it was good fat. It's all about balance.
