TGIF

Yesterday was another good day. I made it to the YMCA before I went to my mom's and did a mile on the treadmill. It's interesting how things get done when you give yourself no other choice. I can't get over how a mile on the treadmill at 2.3 wiped me out. I was sweating buckets!! I used to pay attention to how many minutes I did on the treadmill, but I think I like looking at the miles better. Next time I go I am going to start doing intervals where I speed up for a minute and then back down for a few. I know that will help me get up my overall speed.

While I was there I spoke with Cheryl, the trainer that Jory recommended, and she's all booked up too. But she is also the fitness coordinator and told me to make an appointment with her and she'd help me find what I needed, so there is hope. I really love the YMCA. I like the people, the atmosphere. I hate being the biggest one in the room, but soon, I'll be the one they are whispering about!

Sorry Meg, not a a lot of veggies on yesterday's fitday either. I did have lettuce on my subway!! As I plod my way through this process, I will use fitday to help me along. In the past, I looked at calories only, this time I want more. My protein is too low, I'd like to see it at at least 30%. My fiber is too low, I'd like to see it at 35 or more (I know...veggies would fix that!). And my carbs are too high, I'd like to see them around 125.

Sandi that is so awesome. Look at you go!!!!! Sometimes it is easier to just get the calories where you need them to be and then start adding healthier things to it. I know that's what helped me. I would get too overwhelmed if I tried to be under say 1750 calories, get 4 servings or protein, 5 veggies and fruits, 3 dairy and what not.

Me too... I had to teach myself about portion sizes first before I could overhaul what I was actually eating. Then I started adding in fruits and vegetables and cutting back on the sugars and fats.
