Why counting "no matter what" works for me. It simply keeps me accountable and in the end, that's what I need. Sunday was a birthday celebration at my brothers. Steak, potato casserole, bread & butter, cake. Normally that kind of meal would set me off and I wouldn't be on plan the next day at all, but Monday was just a normal, count everything day. Yesterday we had a family fun day planned and we went to a small museum and had lunch at a nice buffet. I was actually able to do pretty well, baked chicken, not too much crap. But the point is that today is just another day counting. Normally today would have been an eat fest after yesterday!

I have always known that you should just get right back on plan after a bad choice, but mentally, once I made that bad choice, or was over in my calories, it was a free for all. It's like something switched in my brain and there was nothing I could do to control it. This way I am always controlled.
