a successful day

Yesterday ended up being a successful day. I stuck to my 1800 calories and did water aerobics at the YMCA. Yesterday it seemed easy to be on plan.

Today has been a whole other story. I had extra time this morning because I was working offsite and didn't have to be there until 8:00. I have been craving a cinnamon sugar bagel with butter from the bagel shop. I meant to go get one over the weekend and never made it there. All morning Inner Fat Chick (IFC) and Let's Get Healthy Chick (LGHC) fought. I would be driving right by the bagel place. Thank goodness for bad weather and lost time because I couldn't have stopped if I had wanted to. But LGHC had won and my zone was in my lunch.

I worked until 11:00 with a client offsite and my snacks were at work. So I stopped by a gas station. I had to stop and use the rest room, but I had also planned to grab a healthy snack. I wandered around there for 10 min. No candy bars, no junk, something healthy. The nuts all had too many calories, so did the snack bars. I finally found (of all things) a rice krispy treat that was only 150 calories. Now that fit into my plan. Except...it had no nutrition. Finally I abandoned the whole thing, grabbed a diet soda and went on to work. I decided that I could wait 40 min until I got to work and then I'd eat my lunch. And I did. So basically, I am 100% on plan for the day but it hasn't been without a struggle.

I will find a whole wheat bagel at the grocery store and work it into my plan. Need to feed the cravings!!

Good job Sandi for staying on track. I know it is hard when you are in the throes of wanting something to snack on to remember that something like that cinnamon bun will only make you feel worse in the long run no matter how great it feels to eat for those 2 or 3 minutes. Why don't you just make it a policy not to buy anything to eat when you are at work? If you didn't bring it with you, you can't eat it, that simple. That's a prime reason why I try not to take money with me to work. I have my bank card if there is an emergency but otherwise I don't carry cash that way I am not tempted. Anyway that is just my own thing. You are doing great, congrats on sticking with it yesterday!

Great job sticking to it Sandy! I think you showed a lot of restraint! I won't go into a convenience store anymore--that's where I would get my food that I would binge on in the car on the way home.

You can do this!!
