Weigh in - Down 8.4!!

Now as exciting as that looks, we know that I am coming off a gain, so really, I'm back where I was 2 weeks ago, with a loss of 3.4. Which is awesome! I'll take it! I've lost a total 13.6lbs. And it's Monday morning and I'm ready to take on another week of getting healthy!!

10/27
Calories: 1775
Exercise: 25 min elliptical; 20 min treadmill

10/28
Calories: 1440
Exercise: 25 min elliptical; 5 min treadmill; weights

10/29
Calories: 1770
Exercise: none

Yesterday was my nephews confirmation, so of course there was a party! The food was fried chicken, mastacholli, Taco salad, potato salad, baked beans, chips & various desserts. A healthy choice was not to be found. So I executed portion control. 1 chicken breast, 1/4 cup taco salad. That's it. Surprisingly, I was fine. I brought an apple, but I didn't want to be obvious and "look" like I was dieting. Maybe I won't feel so self conscious when I've lost 100 lbs, but for now, I'll keep it low profile. The cake was mighty tempting, & I almost caved a time or two, but made it out of there without any.

I have a doctor's appointment today. On Friday at the end of my workout I had a minor pain in the left side of my chest. It went away within minutes of my ending my workout. Then on Saturday after the elliptical, when I started the treadmill, My left arm was kind of numb. So I got off the treadmill and then got that same minor pain in the left side of my chest. Later that day I got a raging headache, and my shoulders and neck hurt, I was lightheaded and nauseous. In the evening I was just coughing my guts out. That made us think it was an upper resperitory infection, which I do get. But then I was fine on Sunday. I don't know what's going on, but I do think something is wrong. Today at 5:00, I will see my doc. I think I will pretty much request a stress test. I really want to get back & the gym and hit it hard!!! I am very tired. I really think I should be feeling better. Better safe than sorry!

Yowsa! THAT is how your discipline is paying off. YOU GO GIRL!!

Way to go on the portion control. You know what's funny? When you go into an event knowing that you're gonna stay OP and actually make a point to do so, it's like you can somehow detach from the lure of the food and just enjoy the company. I experienced that a lot throughout my process as well. Eating to fuel our bodies rather than our minds, what a concept huh?

Please update ASAP about your doctors appt, and I'm glad to see that you're not taking any chances on this one. I'm sure it's nothing but I'm thinking of you honey, take care of you, k?

Good, solid loss and, once again, it lets you know in no uncertain terms that you're certainly on the right track!

You're doing so well with handling "events", Sandi! It shows how motivated you really are. Sure, its hard to pass up things like special menus (including yummy cakes) but don't you feel so much better once you're home and the food is a thing of the past (and not inside you!)?

I'm really glad you made an appointment to see the doctor and didn't put it off!
