That is how much a 8 month session costs with the hpynosis guy!! OMG!!! The program is 8 months, but you meet with him a total of 14 times. For 8 weeks it's every week and then once a month for 6 months. That works out to be $185.00 a session. The session lasts about 30-45 minutes. I am in the wrong profession!!! On the other hand, if I had the cash, I think the program actually would work. I am very open to positive reinforcement and persuation and I think that he would do a great job. But $2,600.00 is just too steep for me. Especially since Steve & I are trying so hard to stick to our budget (that is already very tight) and not charge. So I just don't think it's an option. I really wish I could.
Steve still can't understand why I just can't do it on my own. I am trying so hard to be very honest with myself and realize that I need some help and that I won't do it on my own. But with no money to work with, it's hard.
Turns out the Vibe had been hit and repaired. So I guess we'll have to keep looking. I'm excited about trying to stick with our budget!

BTW - no, that's not Bailey. I haven't given him a bath yet. Maybe this weekend to save on grooming costs!

WOW, that's a lot of moolah! Good lord, I'm in the wrong profession too! Okay, well, it was a nice idea, but damn! So much for that.
Y'know Sandi, Steve will probably never understand it. I mean really, how could he? He simply doesn't work the way we do. As long as he's willing to accept that he doesn't understand and support you anyway, well, that's all that matters. Is he giving you grief about it lately? Especially since you've been talking WLS?
Good thing you found out about the Vibe now, before it was too late. Let the search continue!

I've read stuff by bariatric doctors who say that it is virtually impossible for most people greater than 100 lbs overweight to lose weight by conventional means. Not saying that there aren't people out there who don't but it is probably a pretty small percent. So you aren't alone in thinking you need help and support. My husband is about the same as yours, he is about 20-30 lbs overweight, he's tall so it isn't really noticeable and he can't understand why I can't lose weight on my own. He seems to think it is an issue not finishing something that I have started. Anyway, I agree about the hypnotist, way too much money and anyway what guarantee does he have that it would work and keep working after the 10 sessions?

I'm speechless ... how on earth can he justify charging that much? Talk about taking advantage of people who desperately want/need help. I mean its not as though the hypnotist has a huge overhead or anything. Okay, next!
I can understand Steve being uncomfortable about the risks of wls and wanting you to do it on your own instead. Hell, I know YOU'D rather do it on your own too, but there's obviously something overwhelming you at this point. I hope he's not being too difficult with you, even if it is out of love and concern. Sigh...he must try to understand that you have to find a way of conquering what's holding you back. I wish I could do more than just give you my support, Sandi, I really do.
